Office Based Operating Room - Plastic Surgery

Many of the operations Dr. Dodson performs can be carried out in our office operating room. Children and adults alike enjoy the atmosphere of office procedure because an otherwise stressful situation in unfamiliar surroundings becomes more like a routine office visit. Instead of a trip to the hospital, patients come to the office where they are cared for by our staff whom they have seen on other, less stressful occasions. Family members can wait in the office waiting room and frequently very young patients are anesthetized in their parents' arms and wake up from the procedure with their parents standing nearby.

• Plastic Surgery

Our facility includes laser procedure equipment. Laser technology provides precision tools for treating sun-damaged skin, correcting facial scars, and removing wrinkles and blemishes. Laser procedures are safer and more effective than other procedures such as deep chemical peels and dermabrasion. With various laser techniques, Dr. Dodson can direct gentle beams of light to areas of skin needing treatment. The laser is also used for patients with snoring problems. The OtoLAM is a new laser treatment for children and adults with serous otitis media (fluid behind the ear drum).

• Plastic Surgery

Endoscopic facial procedures are another innovation we offer. Brow, neck, and face lift procedures have been revolutionized by the use of the endoscope. Long used for orthopedic procedures, the endoscope enables surgeons to see inside anatomical structures and to avoid large incisions and their consequent scarring. The endoscopic facial procedure delivers superior and more long-lasting results.

Our operating facility offers all of the latest high tech monitoring equipment, comparable to the equipment used in hospitals. We can offer general anesthesia or monitored sedation with local anesthesia.

Insurance coverage must be pre-approved. If the procedure is not covered by insurance, you will find that an office-based procedure is always cheaper than hospital-based procedure.

• Plastic Surgery

Our staff will receive calls during regular office hours (9:00 am. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday). They are trained to receive your call and help you with your problem. If you are calling for an appointment or have questions regarding your statement or insurance, please call during regular office hours. Occasionally, the phone will be answered by the answering service during the lunch break.

After hours, the answering service picks up the phone. Though it is rare, occasionally, the phone answering service fails. If you do not hear from Dr. Dodson (or from the doctor on call) within a reasonable length of time, check with the answering service again. In a true emergency, you should go directly to an emergency room so that they can care for you until I arrive. In most cases this is prompt.
